viruses!

Viruses are part of everyones life and will always be in it. Everyone gets infected by viruses, small or large. Viruses can range from; viral infections like the common cold and chicken pox, to HIV/ AIDS. Viruses can either be made up of genetic materials DNA or RNA.

Viruses get around your body in a few ways. Using the lysogenic cycle: The virus attaches to a host cell. The virus then injects the cell with it’s genetic material , mutating the cell. When this cell reproduces naturally it will reproduce with the genetic material of the virus. Eventually, this will infect a whole host cell area with the genetic material of the virus. The virus can be reproduced without your body ever noticing. Some things such as stress and enviromental issues can cause the virus to activate and cause you to have symtoms of infection.

Your Immune System can detect virus and eventually destroy them. Antibodies attach to the virus sending a signal for your white blood cells to attack and destroy it. Vaccines against viruses help ypu build up antibodies against the virus. When you get vaccinated your injected with a very weak or dead strand of the virus. This helps your body build up antibodies against it.

Viruses are part of our everyday lives. These should be understood so we know how our bodies work to fight them off. When our body is under attack by a virus it fights to kill the virus. This is why for example, when you have the common cold you have a runny nose, irritated throat, and watery eyes. These are all symptoms of a virus and your body fighting it off.
